Lena Kourkoutis Named 2022 APS Fellow for Advances in Electron Microscopy

PARADIM researcher Lena Kourkoutis was named a 2022 Fellow of the American Physical Society (APS), an honor reserved for scientists who have made exceptional contributions to the advancement of physics. Kourkoutis was recognized by the Division of Materials Physics for her pioneering work in atomic-resolution cryogenic scanning transmission electron microscopy.

Her research established this technique as a powerful quantitative tool for probing electronic phases in materials and for studying dynamic processes at interfaces between solids and liquids.
